Cooling Unit Buddy Inputs

How do you want to identify the unit?
Model / Nameplate Identification
Type a model number, take a new nameplate photo, or choose an existing photo from your device. Automatic text recognition depends on browser support; manual entry always works.
Current iCOM Temperature Settings
Select the display when known so menu and alarm guidance matches the controller. This does not change the unit calculations.
Vertiv factory defaults load automatically after a supported unit is selected. Replace them with the values actually programmed in that unit before diagnosing operation.
Select a supported Vertiv unit to load its documented iCOM factory-default baseline.
Cooling Unit & Configuration
Model Type filters compressor/reheat choices using Vertiv unit-family documentation. Exact availability can still depend on capacity, voltage, heat-rejection type and factory configuration.
SELECTED UNIT
No unit selected yet
Use either identification method above. You only need one.
Current Control Conditions
Enter the temperature from the sensor iCOM is actually using for temperature control. The control sensor matters because return-air, supply-air, and remote-sensor control can produce different unit behavior.
Constant-speed fan selected: while the Vertiv unit is enabled, the fan is expected to be running.
iCOM Function Enables
Match these switches to the actual iCOM Options / Setup menu. If a function is disabled in iCOM, Cooling Unit Buddy will not expect that function to operate even when temperature or humidity demand exists.
Reheat Enabled in iCOM
Humidification Enabled in iCOM
Dehumidification Enabled in iCOM
These are controller-enable settings, not installed-hardware selections. Verify the actual unit configuration before diagnosing operation.
Current iCOM Humidity Settings
Enter the humidity values currently programmed in iCOM.
Proportional RH control: iCOM divides both the humidity proportional band and humidity dead band evenly around the humidity set point.
Installed Reheat Configuration
Reheat is filtered by the selected unit. Factory configuration can vary, so verify installed hardware.
Refrigeration Measurements
Enable Refrigeration Analysis
Refrigerant is selected automatically from the identified unit. R-407C uses dew point for superheat and bubble point for subcooling.
PI / Integration Time — Optional
Enable PI / Integration Analysis
Used only for PI analysis. It does not alter the normal cooling/reheat staging calculations.
Actual Unit Operation
Enable Expected vs Actual Diagnostics
Choose the overall observed cooling state. Cooling Unit Buddy will tailor these choices to the selected compressor type.
Cooling Unit Buddy will tailor these choices to the installed reheat type.
Enter the controller values, then press Calculate. Dead band may be entered as 0. Results are rounded to one decimal place.

How the calculator treats the bands

Cooling base = TSP + 50% TDB
Cooling band width = 50% TPB
100% cooling = TSP + 50% TDB + 50% TPB
Reheat base = TSP - 50% TDB - 100% HDB
Reheat band width = 50% TPB

Cooling Unit Buddy will not show calculated equipment operation until a valid model and unit size are selected.
